Good News to Share

Faith Focus for the Week

Who in my life needs to hear the Good News?  What is one practical way I will share it?

In our world, joy and sorrow, life and death, beginning and end, coexist. We know what joy is because we have experienced sorrow. We appreciate abundance because we are familiar with need. We value life because loss and death are our constant companions.

To be an Easter people means that we live the joy of resurrection. Death, while inevitable, does not scare us; sin, while all too much in evidence, does not have the last word. Love, grace, mercy and life — this is the Good News of the Resurrection. This is what we are sent to shout from the rooftops, share with excitement and conviction, and bring to the ends of the earth.

Thanks be to God! Thanks be to the Begotten Son, Word-made-Flesh, who conquered death! Thanks be to the Holy Spirit who is at work among us! Thanks be that we can claim to be an Easter people!
